Performs all of those duties as prescribed under both state statutes and local ordinances and provides assistance to the City’s administrative function. Reports directly to the City Administrator.

Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provides administrative support to the City Administrator, Mayor and Board of Aldermen;
- Provides administrative support for the Planning and Zoning Commission as well as to other standing boards and commissions;
- Prepares for and attends all City Council, Planning and Zoning, Economic Development Task Force, Traffic Advisory Committee, and Board of Adjustment Meetings;
- Manages and maintains the City’s official records (“keeper of the records”);
- Provides assistance throughout the City’s plan review and development procedures;
- Performs public relations;
- Handles nuisance violations;
- Oversees issuance of business licenses, Solicitors Licenses and Liquor Licenses; and,
- Provides assistance to other departments.
