State Auditor to Conduct Special Audit of the City of Willard
WILLARD, MO – The Missouri State Auditor has announced that a special audit of the City of Willard will be conducted following the successful submission of a petition in accordance with Section 29.230 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri (RSMo). The petition required 386 valid signatures to trigger the audit; a total of 406 validated signatures were submitted.
The estimated cost of the special audit is between $80,000 and $125,000, with the City of Willard responsible for paying the actual costs incurred upon completion. The audit process is expected to begin in several months, although an exact start date has not yet been determined.

The results of the audit will not be disclosed by the Auditor's office until the audit is complete. At that time, the State Auditor may hold a public meeting to announce the findings or issue a press release.
