A new rate hearing has been scheduled for Monday, January 13, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., following a work session at 6:00 p.m. The regular Board of Aldermen meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
We plan to hold the meeting in the board room, but we have a backup plan to move to the Community Center if attendance exceeds capacity.
The board remains evenly split between two rate models:
1️⃣ A flat rate where all customers pay the same rate regardless of whether they are within city limits or not; and,
2️⃣ A rate maintaining an out-of-town surcharge for out-of-city customers, ensuring in-city residents pay a lower rate; the proposed surcharge is 10%.
We strongly encourage customers to attend and share their preference. A reminder will go out via robocall closer to the date and will be on the backs of utility bills that are currently being prepared.
